Ray Higdon –one of the internet’s best sales guy. With over 1600 blog posts, annual revenue of $700k+, and at least 30,000 satisfied clients. He’s got a lot to teach us about online selling, creating a following, and keeping satisfied clients.

We’re excited because we’ve managed to pull Ray of his ‘mini-retirement’ and spend some time with us to chat about selling products online.

You may have heard some of Ray’s advice before…but not in the way Ray shares it. His insights and the way he coaches is sure to shift some of how you do things. It sure did for us.

Since our talk with Ray, I’ve hit YouTube with a new fervor and I’ve started blogging in a different way. May not look super different to you, but for me it’s changing the whole way I approach business.

1. Focus on education and value. Keep asking yourself – how can I bring value to the marketplace that I want to dominate? You don’t have to be a guru to build your brand and add value.

2. Acronym to Live By: ILT = INVEST LEARN TEACH. People invest and learning but they make a mistake by not teaching what they’re learning. As you consume info, take the education into online content and create blogs, podcast episodes, and even courses to sell.

3. Create daily videos around solving the problem your audience has. Lead with value and education. Teach your topic in an energetic and powerful way.

4. Out Teach Your Competition – teach more, give more, and be more prominent. By being out there teaching and adding more value than your competition you’ll become the go-to-person. The best in the market.

5. Give people what they want, sell them what they need. Focus on giving people the dream, telling them about the possibilities. People thrive on this (this reminds of the webinar episode we did with Jon Schmaucher)

6. People should get value out of what you’re teaching whether they buy or not (Ray told us he has 160k+ email list and 30k are customers BUT many of the non-buyers bring clients & share his content).

7. Know the value are you bring to the market place. How are you making a positive impact? Then think about monetizing. How do you take them from free stuff to high-end offers.
